“Extended Graph API-based backup support to In-Place Archives and group mailboxes, further advancing the transition from Exchange Web Services (EWS).”
365 Total Backup - Release October 9 2026 (Hornetsecurity) (2026-10-09), read 2026-10-21.
What to do. The 15 September 2026 release added Graph-based mailbox backups, and the 9 October 2026 release extended them to In-Place Archives and group mailboxes. Hornetsecurity calls this further progress in the move from EWS. Some customers may be asked to regrant Microsoft 365 permissions inside 365 Total Backup.
